Man flying kite from moving car, falls off

MORENO VALLEY, Calif., March 27 (UPI) -- A man was critically injured in a stunt in Moreno Valley, Calif., in which he attempted to fly a kite while standing on a moving car, police said.

The unidentified man, 22, struck his head on the pavement Sunday night when he fell from the trunk lid of a slow-moving car while attempting to lift a handheld kite into the air, a statement by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

He was treated at the scene and hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the car was not injured, and alcohol was not involved, The (Riverside) Press-Enterprise reported.
