$338 million jackpot winner confirmed

PASSAIC, N.J., March 26 (UPI) -- A New Jersey father of five said Tuesday he felt "pure joy" when he realized he had won the $338 million Powerball jackpot.

Lottery officials confirmed Pedro Quezada of Passaic had indeed bought the winning ticket and presented him with a giant check representing his winnings, the fourth-largest in Powerball history, NBC News reported.

"I felt pure joy," the 45-year-old bodega operator who immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic 26 years ago said through a translator. "My family is a very humble family and we're going to help each other out."

The money, he said, will change his life, "but it will not change my heart."

Quezada said other than getting a new car he had no firm ideas about what he will do with his fortune, the New York Daily News reported.
