Two sky divers from Iceland die in Florida

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla., March 24 (UPI) -- Two men from Iceland died while sky diving in windy conditions in Zephyrhills, Fla., officials said.

The bodies of Andrimar Pordarson, 25, and sky diving instructor Orvar Arnarson, 40, were found Saturday evening, several hours after they jumped from a plane with a group of about 22 other divers, the Tampa Bay Times of St. Petersburg, Fla., reported.

"Our helicopter was able to get a visual from the air," said Pasco County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Melanie Snow. "They were found very close to each other south of the airport off of Yonkers Road."

Snow said officials are not sure what caused the jumps to go awry or whether their parachutes ever opened.

Arnarson was an experienced sky diving instructor who had done thousands of jumps and Pordarson had seven other jumps under his belt, the Times reported.

The pair had jumped out of planes operated by Skydive City.
