Report notes U.S. security aid to Lebanon

WASHINGTON, March 20 (UPI) -- A U.S. General Accountability Office report says goals for security in Lebanon have been constant, and noted security assistance has been adjusted properly.

The report, released Wednesday, noted U.S. agencies have allocated $925 million, from 2007 to 2012, for security assistance programs in Lebanon, mostly disbursed through the U.S. State and Defense departments.

It recommends completing plans to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security programs and finding specific and measurable performance indicators.
