N. California woman stabbed while sleeping

WOODLAND, Calif., March 20 (UPI) -- A woman who was allegedly stabbed in her sleep by her husband early Wednesday was expected to recover from her wounds, police in Northern California said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was taken to UC Davis Medical Center after being stabbed in the chest while she slept next to her 9-year-old daughter in their Woodland home.

Police told KCRA-TV, Sacramento, the woman's husband, Guillermo Aldama, 35, was arrested by officers responding to the call.
