CHARDON, Ohio, March 19 (UPI) -- T.J. Lane was sentenced to life imprisonment Tuesday for killing three students in a shooting rampage at a Chardon, Ohio, high school in 2012.

Lane, 18, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault on Feb. 26.

Tuesday morning, Geauga County Common Pleas Judge David Fuhry sentenced Lane to three lifetime sentences without the possibility of parole for the deaths of Daniel Parmertor, 16, Demetrius Hewlin, 16 and Russell King Jr., 17. Three other students were injured, and one is confined to a wheelchair due to his injuries, the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.

In court Lane wore a white T-shirt with the word "Killer" written on the front, similar to one he wore when he was captured after the shootings. He gave a brief statement before the sentencing, much of it unintelligible and ending with an expletive. He then raised his middle finger toward the victims of families, the newspaper said.
