Powerball jackpot reaches $260 million

PHILADELPHIA, March 18 (UPI) -- The Powerball jackpot has hit $260 million, growing by $110 million in just 10 days to become the fourth-largest prize in the game's history, officials say.

The last time the jackpot was so high was Nov. 21, when it hit $250 million, Philly.com reported Monday.

However, the all-time high jackpot reached $587.5 million in December, which amounted to a $384.7 million payout split between two people.

The current Powerball jackpot has been growing since Feb. 6.

Although no one matched all six numbers in the most recent drawing, 16 people did match five numbers each, winning themselves $1 million a piece.
