KENNER, La., March 18 (UPI) -- A 51-year-old suburban New Orleans man raped two of his stepdaughters and impregnated them at least five times, authorities alleged Monday.

The Kenner man was arrested and booked with aggravated incest and molestation, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune reported. Police said the suspect's name was being withheld to protect the identities of the stepdaughters, now 22 and 26.

Kenner police Sgt. Brian McGregor said the sisters contacted authorities this March and revealed they had been sexually abused for more than 13 years.

The older victim told investigators she was 13 when her stepfather began raping her when the family lived in Jasper, Ind., and the abuse continued as they moved to Charlotte, N.C., and then to Kenner. She said her stepfather fathered four of her seven children.

She said she remained with the family under death threats from her stepfather, the newspaper said.

The younger sister was 9 when the abuse allegedly began for her and she became pregnant by her stepfather when she was 14. She told police she had the fetus aborted in North Carolina.

DNA tests were being conducted to determine the parentage of the women's children. Investigators had yet to determine whether any charges would be brought against the sisters' mother.

The stepfather Monday remained in the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna, where he was booked Friday on three counts of aggravated incest, three counts of molestation of a juvenile, three counts of oral sexual battery, three counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, three counts of aggravated crimes against nature involving a victim under 17 and nine counts of sexual battery, arrest reports showed. His bail was set at $2.4 million.
