OKLAHOMA CITY, March 17 (UPI) -- A dog found the body of a newborn baby born in a field in Oklahoma City, police said.

Police were called to a home in the city's south side Saturday morning by a person who was house-sitting for the owner, The Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, reported.

The house-sitter said the dog, which is known to roam around a large area near the house, brought the body in from a nearby field.

Police brought in a K-9 unit and air support to try to figure out where the dog found the body, police Lt. Dan Holland said.

No other information on the incident was released.
