LOS ANGELES, March 16 (UPI) -- The producer of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" said in a deposition in a divorce case parts of the series were staged, documents show.

Lawyers for NBA player Kris Humphries took the deposition as part of his fraud lawsuit against Kim Kardashian, ABC News reported Saturday.

Producer Russell Jay said Humphries' proposal to Kardashian was re-shot because she was not happy with the way her reaction looked.

Jay said Kardashian requested another take, saying, "Can we just like, have me come back in one more time and be, like, really surprised?"

A later conversation between Kardashian and her mother about a rough-spot in her 72-day marriage was actually filmed after she filed for divorce, the deposition said, as quoted by Life & Style magazine.

A friend of Humphries' is quoted in Life & Style as saying the NBA player "feels vindicated."

"This will prove how fake Kim and the show are," said the friend, whose name was not reported.

Kardashian is expected to provide sworn testimony in a deposition in two weeks, ABC News said. The trial is scheduled to begin May 6.
