Foster father accused of raping 3 girls

SANTA ANA, Calif., March 8 (UPI) -- A foster father in California was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting three girls who lived in his home, authorities said.

Felipe Hernandez, 66, was charged with multiple felony counts of rape and molestation of the girls, who were 9, 11, and 15 when the alleged assaults on them started, the Los Angeles Times reported.

He was accused of assaulting the youngest girl between Feb. 1, 2006, and March 31, 2006; the 11-year-old between Dec. 6, 2006, and Aug. 21, 2012; and the 15-year-old between Jan. 1, 2009, and Aug. 21, 2012, authorities said.

The investigation into Hernandez started after a family member discovered a memory card that contained video footage of him inappropriately touching the 15-year-old girl, authorities said.

Hernandez was being held on $1 million bail.
