Sinkhole victim's brother voices anger

SEFFNER, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- The man who attempted to save his brother from a sinkhole in Florida said he is angry authorities haven't done more to retrieve the body.

"They said it was dangerous, but you see this heavy equipment, you see that?" Jeremy Bush said. The house is still standing. The only reason the house fell is because they put the machines on it."

He said his family is "going through hell."

The sinkhole opened up Thursday and engulfed Jeff Bush, 36, who was in his bedroom. His brother, Jeremy, attempted to save him but was unsuccessful.

Authorities have said it is too dangerous to send a crew into the hole to recover the body.

Teams are now demolishing the house and hope to get a better look at the sinkhole once the job is finished, NBC news said.

Workers got their first sight of the hole Monday, and estimated it to be 30 feet wide and 60 feet deep.

Meanwhile, another sinkhole has opened up just a few miles away, NBC news reported, but it has not resulted in any injuries.
