CAHOKIA, Ill., March 4 (UPI) -- A small plane carrying eight passengers abandoned an effort to land in Cahokia, Ill., opting for Lambert airport in St. Louis because of a landing gear problem.

It initially was supposed to land at St. Louis Downtown Airport in Cahokia but diverted to the much larger Lambert-St. Louis International Airport when the landing gear problem became apparent, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
