CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif., March 4 (UPI) -- A text message mistakenly sent to the wrong person led the FBI to arrest a suspect in Citrus Heights, Calif., on child pornography charges, court documents say.
U.S. marshals arrested Jason Wymer, 42, for receiving and possessing thousands of child pornography files.
The FBI was tipped off after the mother of an 8-year-old girl reported she accidentally sent him a photo of the girl in a text message, by misdialing and directing the photo to Wyler's phone instead of to her older daughter, the federal complaint said.
In the photo, the girl was fully clothed and standing before a candy display, KXTV-TV, Sacramento, reported Monday.
The court documents said Wymer texted back, asking for more photographs, and sent several sexually explicit messages until agents executed a search warrant of his apartment last week.
