LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Netflix Chief Executive Officer Reed Hastings says there are no plans to produce more than one new season of the revived U.S. sitcom "Arrested Development."

"It's really a fantastic one-off, which is coming together incredibly, and I think it will be amazing for us. But think of it as a non-repeatable amazing," EW.com quoted Hastings as saying in a teleconference with investors Monday.

Although nothing is in the works right now, a Netflix representative told EW.com the DVD rental and entertainment streaming company would like to see more seasons produced.

Netflix revived the canceled series about a wealthy, eccentric family, and plans to make the entire new season available on the same day in May. The exact date has not been announced.

The series originally ran on the Fox television network from 2003-06, winning six Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2004. It stars Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, David Cross, Henry Winkler and Jeffrey Tambor.
