Abandoned Texas infant doing well

HOUSTON, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Texas authorities said Tuesday they were looking for the parents of an abandoned infant dubbed Chloe who was placed in foster care this week.

Chloe was a newborn when she was discovered inside a plastic bag outside an apartment building in Cypress by a woman walking her dog, The Houston Chronicle said. Now approximately 6 days old, Chloe sports a full head of hair.

She was released to a foster family Monday after spending a few days in a Houston hospital.

The tooth is considered unusual for a newborn and could be a genetic trait that could help lead to the child's family, the Chronicle said. Otherwise, Chloe is described as healthy and normal and doesn't cry much.

Child Protective Services said it was waiting for someone to come forward to either claim the baby or provide clues to the parents' whereabouts. As of Tuesday, no one had come forward.
