Two minor earthquakes shake Texas

WAXAHACHIE, Texas, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Two small earthquakes shook parts of Texas Sunday morning, officials said.

The first quake, which measured at a magnitude of 2.4, struck at about 4:35 a.m., The Dallas Morning News reported.

It was centered about four miles north of Waxahachie, and had a depth of about three miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Then, at 6:56 a.m., a 2.5 magnitude quake struck Glenn Heights. That quake had a depth of about 3.1 miles, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Some residents in Waxahachie, DeSoto, Red Oak, Lancaster and other towns south of Dallas may have felt the quakes, but no damage was reported.
