CAMDEN, N.J., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- An explosion and fire in New Jersey Saturday destroyed a Victorian-era home converted into five apartments, injuring two people, authorities said.

The condition of the two people hurt in the blast that occurred about 3:45 p.m. in Haddon Heights wasn't known, the Cherry Hill Courier-Post reported.

Haddon Heights Mayor Edward Forte said nine fire companies and more than 65 firefighters responded to the blaze, the newspaper said.

The cause of the explosion and fire had not been determined, Forte said.
