MIAMI, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A woman and her two children were in critical condition in a Miami hospital after they were shot by her husband who turned the gun on himself, police said.
Investigators said they found the deceased man and his wounded wife and children when they entered the home in response to the incident Wednesday, WSVN-TV, Miami, reported.
"It turned quickly into a life saving event," Miami Police Detective Willie Moreno said.
A neighbor said she heard a child crying for help Wednesday when the shooting occurred.
"My room is right on the side of their house. I heard the two shots, we lowered the TV and we heard the cry for help," Jennifer Pichs told WSVN. "A little girl screaming, 'Help.'"
Police said the motive of the shooting was not known.
