Doctor under investigation found dead

BALTIMORE, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- A Baltimore gynecologist under investigation for allegedly secretly videotaping patients is believed to have killed himself, police said.

Police found the body of Nikita Levy, 54, at his home in Towson, Md., Monday, The Baltimore Sun reported. The cause of death was not immediately obvious, investigators said.

Levy practiced at East Baltimore Medical Center, a community clinic that is part of the Johns Hopkins University medical complex. He was fired earlier this month after one of Levy's colleagues reported he had been secretly taping his patients.

The university also notified police. Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesman for Baltimore Police, said investigators found a lot of evidence at his home and are now trying to identify the women who were videotaped.

"I think it's fair to say any individual who's been treated by this doctor should contact police," he said. "We're preparing for a large number to come forward."
