Mom strips during school assembly

ALBANY, N.Y., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A central New York woman hopped on the stage during a school assembly and began stripping, police said.

Aydrea Meaders, 24, initially acted normally while attending a Black History Month presentation Friday at her child's school, North Albany Academy, conversing with the school's principal, WTEN-TV, Albany, reported.

Then, during a dance number, Meaders got on stage and began dancing with the students who were performing.

"That wasn't an expected part of the routine but she wasn't doing anything inappropriate," Albany schools spokesman Ron Lesko told WXAA-TV, Albany.

But things quickly went downhill at the school for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade children.

Meaders removed her coat and top, stripping nude down to her waist in front of about 200 students who were on hand, police said.

School personnel rushed the stage and ushered her to a place where the students couldn't see her, Lesko said.

Police were called and Meaders was charged with seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of public lewdness.
