FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts man was sentenced to life in prison for stabbing his teenage wife to death two weeks after she gave birth to a baby fathered by another man.

Kyle Alleyne, 28, was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday by Middlesex Superior Court Judge Thomas Billings after he was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of his wife, Heather Alleyne, 19, the Boston Herald reported.

"This defendant was found guilty of brutally stabbing his wife to death, leaving two very young children without a mother," Middlesex District Attorney Gerard T. Leone Jr. said in a statement.

Heather Alleyne's body was found on Aug. 9, 2010, in the apartment she and her husband shared after her mother, Virginia Marcheterre, asked police to check on her, Leone said.

Prosecutors said Kyle Alleyne stabbed his wife multiple times on or about Aug. 4, 2010, after he found out the baby girl Heather gave birth to on July 23, 2010, was the product of an extramarital affair.

After the stabbing, Alleyne fled to Mexico and was arrested in Laredo, Texas, Aug. 14, 2010, when he tried to re-enter the United States.
