MIDVALE, Utah, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- One of three people killed in a Midvale, Utah, drug house was identified as a former convict with a criminal history including drug distribution, police said.

Unified Police Department Lt. Justin Hoyal said Wednesday Omar Paul Jarman, 35, was among the three shot and killed Tuesday morning. Three others were also shot, two dead at the scene when police officers arrived.

The third person was hospitalized in critical condition. Her status was upgraded to serious Wednesday, and is expected to survive. Four other residents of the house were uninjured and have been questioned by police, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday.

Detectives have identified David Fresques, 25, as a suspect in the slayings, referring to him as "an associate of the individuals" who resided in the home.

Utah court records indicate Fresques is an ex-convict with gang associations and convictions for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon.

The house where the shootings occurred was raided by police officers on a drug-related search warrant a month ago, the newspaper noted.

Jarman's criminal record dates to 1999 and includes traffic violations, domestic violence and child-support issues, and felony drug possession and distribution counts, court records said.
