ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Anaheim, Calif., police said a man allegedly driving drunk struck and killed three women pedestrians this weekend.

Police Sgt. Bob Dunn said the driver of a red Honda Civic struck and killed the three women around 11 p.m. Saturday. Only one of the victims, Carmen Mendoza, 56, was identified. Two other women in their 20s were hit. One died at the scene and paramedics took the third woman to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver has not been identified, The Orange County (Calif.) Register said Sunday. He has been charged with felony driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The driver and a passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
