ATLANTA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- An Atlanta sixth-grader was removed from class Friday after other students reported seeing him walking to school with a BB gun, city police said.

Atlanta police said the boy is a student at Brown Middle School.

Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Steven Alford said the unloaded BB gun was found about a block from the school.

Alford said the boy was not arrested but the school board would take action.
