Girl, 13, held in stabbing of stepfather

SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A 13-year-old San Antonio girl was arrested for allegedly stabbing her stepfather after an argument over a cellphone, authorities said.

The arrest Monday came after the girl allegedly stabbed the man at least five times in the back, side and neck after he forbade her to use a cellphone, police Sgt. Rudy Lopez said.

The man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition, the San Antonio Express-News reported Tuesday.

No names were released.
