Divorcing couple fights over son's ashes

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A judge in Florida has ordered the parents of a man killed by polo mogul John Goodman to resolve an impasse over the disposition of his ashes.

A Palm Beach funeral home has been storing Scott Wilson's ashes for nearly three years while his divorcing parents fight over what to do with them, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Tuesday.

Circuit Court Judge Martin H. Colin has given William and Lili Wilson 30 days to come to an agreement or he will consider appointing someone to break the deadlock.

Wilson was killed in a car crash in February 2010 when Goodman ran a stop sign and slammed into his sedan, forcing the car to skid into a canal.

Last week William Wilson requested to have his son's ashes split in half but Colin denied the request.
