Magnitude-6 quake rattles Alaska

PORT ALEXANDER, Alaska, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A magnitude-6 earthquake struck off the coast of southeastern Alaska Thursday about 45 miles south of Port Alexander, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The earthquake, about 5 1/2 miles deep, was about 50 miles west-southwest of Edna Bay, 63 miles west of Craig, both in Alaska, and 654 miles northwest of Vancouver, British Columbia.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
