HUMBLE, Texas, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- About 18 elementary school students from Texas were hospitalized Thursday morning after the engine of their bus caught fire, fire officials said.

The fire happened at about 8:30 a.m. in Humble on a bus for Northwest Preparatory Academy, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Humble Fire Chief Gary Outlaw said the fire was put out quickly and none of the 18 students aboard the bus was injured but were hospitalized as a precaution.
