Woman kills self in Mich. police station

Jan. 29, 2013 at 9:54 PM

OAK PARK, Mich., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Oak Park, Mich., resident Charlotte Jones walked into a police station and killed herself with a .38-caliber revolver, police said.

Jones, 59, who had terminal throat cancer, had a suicide note in her pocket when she walked into the Oak Park Public Safety station about 5 p.m. Saturday, The Macomb Daily reported Tuesday.

"The note basically said she had enough and wanted to end it because of her illness," Oak Park Lt. Samantha Kretzschmar told the newspaper.

The final words of the note said, "Enough is enough."

"She didn't have any conversation with anyone," Kretzschmar said.
