Woman finds grenade, brings it home

NORFOLK, Va., Jan. 29 (UPI) -- A woman found a grenade on a Norfolk, Va., street, took it home, and then called police, a fire and rescue spokesman said.

The unnamed woman found the grenade Monday evening on a Norfolk street, the (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported.

After bringing it home, she notified police, Norfolk Fire-Rescue spokesman Mike Hicks said.

Police removed the grenade from the home, and Navy explosive device personnel determined it was not armed. Navy personnel took possession of the grenade for disposal, the newspaper said.
