EAST ST. LOUIS, Mo., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- East St. Louis police are hoping surveillance camera videos near a church can help identify three men who robbed worshippers at gunpoint during the service.

The robbers broke at least one commandment Sunday night when they ordered congregants at IRA Grove Free Baptist Church onto the floor and took their cash, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday.

All of the robbers had guns and covered their faces with bandannas, Police Chief Michael Floore said.

Police are hoping video footage from the security cameras of nearby businesses can provide a few clues as to their identities.

The chief said he did not know how many people were robbed or what was taken.
