String of violence in Chicago kills seven

CHICAGO, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Four shootings and a stabbing in Chicago this weekend left seven people dead, authorities reported.

Police said a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the latest homicide, which occurred at 11:50 p.m. Saturday on the South Side of the city. Chicago Tribune said the stabbing took place during a domestic argument and the victim, Willie Wilson, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a 38-year-old man was killed at 10:05 p.m. when he was shot during an incident in the Englewood neighborhood of the South Side. The Tribune said the victim, Norman Stokes, died at the scene in a vacant building.

In the second double homicide of the day, which took place at 5 p.m. on the West Side, a 16-year-old and a 32-year-old were killed. The two were found outside on the ground, near an elementary school, the Tribune said.

The boy's uncle said his nephew was going to the store.

The first double homicide took place in the South Side at 4 a.m., when a man and his roommate were shot and killed.

The Tribune said no one has been arrested.
