BRADENTON, Fla., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A sheriff's office in Florida released a photo of a rare violin stolen from a women's home in Bradenton, in hopes the instrument will be found.

The violin is a German Gabriel David Buchstetter, with a red and brown varnish and silver trim, The (Sarasota) Herald-Tribune reported.

The Miami Herald said the violin was made 243 years ago. No word on how much it was worth.

Police are requesting that anyone with information call crime stoppers at 866-634-8477.

Police said the violin was reported stolen Jan. 18 by its owner.
