SALISBURY, N.C., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- A Marine recruiter is facing sexual battery and rape charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted two female recruits in North Carolina, officials said.
Sgt. Derek Craig Percival, 23, was arrested Saturday, two days after investigators began looking into allegations that a recruiter sexually assaulted two young female recruits at the Salisbury Marine office, The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer reported.
Details on when the assaults occurred, and the ages of the victims, were not available, but authorities said Percival allegedly met the victims while he worked at the recruitment office.
Percival has been charged with felony second-degree rape, two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery and false imprisonment. He remained in Rowan County jail Saturday under a $100,000 secured bond.
