DALLAS, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Police in Dallas say they are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a gun at motorist in a passing car early Sunday.

The shooting happened while the victim Eric Gonzales, 25, of DeSoto, was driving W. Camp Wisdom Road around 12:45 a.m., the Dallas Morning News reported.

Gonzales told police that another driver pulled up next to his car while he was stopped at a traffic light and yelled "Stay in your lane! Stay in your lane!" a police report states.

When the light turned green, Gonzales said he continued in the same direction and soon after, he heard a gunshot and felt a pain his right shoulder.

He pulled into a parking lot, where someone called 911, the police report stated. He was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect drove away after the shooting.
