WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- President Obama announces his package of proposals to reduce gun violence in the United States Wednesday, the White House said.

Obama will be joined by Vice President Joe Biden and children from across the country who wrote letters to the president after the shootings in Newtown, Conn., along with their parents, the daily schedule indicated.

Obama and Biden also will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.
