DETROIT, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Jurors in the corruption trial of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick are complaining about bug bites inside federal court.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds asked lawyers and defendants in the case Wednesday if they had also been bitten, saying, "Some of the jurors have had problems getting bitten by, maybe a fly, or jumping insect."

She then had the jury room sprayed for insects, The Detroit News reported.

"I guess it's funny. At least you're laughing about it," she later said.
