PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A 5-year-old Philadelphia girl, who had been kidnapped from her school, was found nearly naked Tuesday after running away from her abductors, police said.

Na'illa Robinson had been signed out of Bryant Elementary School around 8:50 a.m. Monday by a woman dressed head to toe in a burqa, the Philadelphia Daily News reported. The woman, who called herself Tiffany, said she was supposed to pick up Na'illa, though she was not on the list of guardians approved to do so.

"I don't understand how it's possible for someone to just carry a child out like that," Danielle Robinson, Na'illa's aunt, said Monday before the girl was found. "The school is not doing their job."

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said a man walking by an abandoned Upper Darby athletic field was the one who discovered Na'illa around 4:40 a.m. after hearing her cry.

"As he starts to walk to where the screams are, a little girl runs out," Chitwood said. "She said, 'I ran away, I ran away from the people who took me.'"

Na'illa was dressed only in a T-shirt and was taken to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia to be treated for exposure to the cold, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

"Right now the child is safe," Chitwood said.

He said police are investigating the residential neighborhood near the athletic field for Na'illa's abductors.

"If she ran away, she ran away right in that area," Chitwood said. "A child is not going to be able to go that far."
