DETROIT, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick could be back behind bars if he refuses to reveal who has been wiring him money, a Michigan corrections official says.

Kilpatrick, currently on trial on federal corruption charges, is on parole after pleading guilty to perjury and then being found in violation of his probation. State officials imposed electronic monitoring Thursday, ordered Kilpatrick to remain in his mother's house in Detroit except when he is in court, and banned him from leaving the state to spend time with his family in Texas, The Detroit News reported.

Russ Marlan, a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections, said Kilpatrick has acknowledged getting about $4,000 in wire transfers in addition to donations he had previously reported. He identified the givers only as "friends."

Kilpatrick owes Detroit $855,000 in restitution.
