SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- An Air Force recruiter is accused of sexual misconduct, forcible sodomy and rape against as many as 14 women seeking to enlist, military officials said.

One prosecutor described it as perhaps the worst sex scandal in the Air Force recruiting center's history, the San Antonio Express-News said Wednesday.

Two women testified at a hearing that Air Force Tech Sgt. Jaime Rodriguez repeatedly came on to them via text message and in person. One woman said he shut off the lights and began kissing her in his Houston-area recruiting office the day after she passed an entrance examination. After she left, he persisted, asking her to come back.

Another female recruit said Rodriguez contacted her via Yahoo! Messenger and informed her she'd passed an entrance exam. He invited her down to the office to "celebrate" and suggested they go in a storage room to have sex, the woman said.

Rodriguez, 34, who is married, is charged with adultery, forcible sodomy and rape. Under military law, adultery is a crime.

If a judge terms the evidence credible at the hearing in San Antonio, Texas, where the Air Force's recruiting operations are based, a full trial could be ordered. Conviction could lead to a life sentence.
