Sex offender captured in Texas

In April, Rubio was discharged from prison after serving a 20-year sentence for sexually assaulting four women, three of whom were in their 20s. The fourth was 14 years old.

Marshals said Rubio assaulted and threatened to kill his victims, and bound them to prevent their escape.

After his discharge, Rubio allegedly cut off his ankle monitor and fled from the Travis County Residential Center in Del Valle, Texas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety added Rubio to the state's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, and a $5,000 cash reward was offered.

After receiving information Rubio was hiding in a Bandera residence, officers approached the home and Rubio allegedly fled out a back window, running 20 yards before being apprehended, officials said.

Rubio was being held in the Bandera County Jail.

The Lone Star Task Force is made up of state and local law enforcement and U.S. deputy marshals.
