WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A former press secretary for Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., is the communications director for Republican State Leadership Committee, the group's leader said.

Jill Bader's experience on the state level, in Washington and in the non-profit sector as most recently the Girl Scouts of America's senior public policy and communications adviser will be an asset to the RSLC going into the 2013-14 election cycle, organization President Chris Jankowski said in a release Monday.

"We are pleased to welcome Jill Bader to the RSLC team," Jankowski said. "Jill's outstanding record on Capitol Hill and in successful campaigns across the country makes her a perfect fit as we continue to build upon our successes in electing Republicans to the office of attorney general, lieutenant governor, secretary of state and legislator."

In the political realm, Bader also worked as press secretary for the Senate Republican Conference and is former communications director for Gov. Scott Walker's campaign in Wisconsin.
