Obama golfs with friends in Hawaii

Jan. 4, 2013 at 11:43 PM

KAILUA, Hawaii, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- President Obama spent more than 5 hours on the golf links Friday while vacationing in Hawaii.

Joining the president for a round at the Palmer Course at Turtle Bay Resort were Bobby Titcomb, Marty Nesbitt, Sam Kass and Marvin Nicholson. They played under a gray sky with a light drizzle and gusty winds.

The drive to the resort from Obama's rented vacation home took more than an hour on a winding coastal road, including stops for traffic signals and a passing emergency vehicle.

The White House press secretary's office said Obama and his family would end their winter vacation Saturday evening, flying to Washington aboard Air Force One.
