Stripper critical after balcony fall

CLEVELAND, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A Cleveland stripper was in critical condition after falling 15 feet off a balcony while performing a lap dance early Wednesday, police said.

The unidentified victim, 22, was dancing on a second story balcony around 12:40 a.m. inside Christie's Cabaret in The Flats, a nightclub district. A witness told police the stripper grabbed a rail behind the man and "she tried to complete some sort of dance jump/dance move, and accidentally went head first over the rail," the report said.

The man getting the dance and his friend fled the club immediately after the incident. Another witness told WEWS-TV, Cleveland, the woman was unresponsive and her face covered in blood after the fall.

Police said they are treating the matter as an accident.
