SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- A weekend apartment building fire in San Jose, Calif., killed three people, injured three others and displaced 65 tenants, authorities said.

The names of the man, woman and young girl killed in the 11:15 p.m. Saturday blaze had not been release.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported injured included a police officer credited with saving at least one person.

The fire appeared to have started on the upper floor of the 16-unit, two-story building, but the cause had not been determined, the newspaper said.
