RONKONKOMA, N.Y., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- A Southwest Airlines plane overran a taxiway and slid off the runway at MacArthur Airport on Long Island, the FAA reported.

The front nose wheel of the plane, a Boeing 737, was stuck in mud after it left the runway at the Ronkonkoma, N.Y., airport at about 7 a.m. Thursday, Islip, N.Y., Town Rescue said.

The FAA said the pilot misnegotiated a turn on the taxiway.

Flight 4695, bound for Tampa, Fla., was already delayed when the incident occurred, WNYW-TV, New York, reported Thursday.

None of the 136 passengers aboard was injured.
