Police pursuit in Pasadena leaves two dead

PASADENA, Calif., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Police said two people were killed in Pasadena, Calif., when a car involved in a police pursuit ran a red light and hit a minivan.

Police said the accident occurred Tuesday near the scene of a fatal shooting but officials said they weren't sure the incidents were related.

The shooting occurred around 11 a.m., and Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Times said police saw a vehicle roll through a stop sign near the scene about 8:15 p.m. Police said the driver sped off and police pursued until the crash occurred s short time later.

Police said two people, one a child, in the minivan were killed and two others were injured. The Times said four passengers in the suspect vehicle were uninjured.
