SEATTLE, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- A former Seattle airport employee, accused of stealing a pistol from a passenger's luggage, has been charged with theft, prosecutors said.

Uriel Ochoa-Valenzuela, 21, an ex-employee of Menzies Aviation at Sea-Tac International Airport, was charged with felony theft, prosecutors contending he removed the pistol from the bag of an Alaska Airlines passenger on his way to Hawaii on Nov. 15.

Ochoa-Valenzuela then attempted to sell the weapon to a co-worker for $200, charging documents said.

A Menzies Aviation manager contacted Port of Seattle police, who began an investigation, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported Wednesday.
