FRANKLIN, Ohio, Dec. 24 (UPI) -- Two minivans collided head-on on Interstate 75 near Franklin, Ohio, Sunday, killing four people and injuring five others, police said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said alcohol may have been a factor in the 2:23 a.m. crash, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.

The driver of one minivan, Joshua Nkansah, 40, of Fairfield, was heading south in the northbound lanes when he collided with another minivan driven by Michele Barhorst, 31, of Madisonville, Tenn., the Highway Patrol said.

Barhorst, her husband Scott, 37, Nkansah and his son David Nkansah, 7, were all killed, the Enquirer said.

Hayley Barhorst, 9, and Darius Nkansah were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Tori Barhorst, 8, and Logan Barhorst, 11, were in serious condition and Tyler Barhorst, 18, suffered minor injuries, the newspaper said.
